It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Peptac 40mg injection at a fixed time.
It is generally safe to consume alcohol with Peptac 40mg injection.
Peptac 40mg injection is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Either animal studies have shown no adverse effect on the fetus, but there is no human studies or animal studies have shown an adverse effect that was not confirmed in human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Famotidine(40 mg)


Peptac 40mg injection either alone or in combination with some other drugs is used for short term relief from heartburn, upset or sour stomach, indigestion and acidity (GERD; gastro esophageal reflux disease) and gastric ulcers.

How it works

Peptac 40mg injection belongs to a class of medication call H2 blockers. It acts by preventing release of excess acid by the stomach thus treating the above mentioned conditions.

Famotidine can be taken for heartburn or acid reflux at a dose strictly instructed by your doctor. It is not used for treating gas/nausea/indigestion/diarrhea.
Q. Can I take lansoprazole /omeprazole /pantoprazole /azithromycin /tramadol /Cipro/ tums/doxycycline with famotidine?
It is not advisable to take lansoprazole/ omeprazole /pantoprazole / tums along with famotidine unless advised by the doctor. Famotidine is not known to interact with azithromycin/ tramadol/ Cipro/ doxycycline. Any combination with famotidine should be taken only if prescribed by the doctor.
Q. Does famotidine cause hair loss/constipation/drowsiness/diarrhea/bone loss/potentiate opioids?
Famotidine is not known to cause hair loss/bone loss/potentiate opioids. It may have some side effects like slight constipation/drowsiness/diarrhea. Please consult the doctor in case any side effect is observed.
