Uses

Ovitrop 150 i.u injection is used in the treatment of female infertility (inability to become pregnant) and male hypogonadism (decrese in male hormone).

How it works

FSH binds to the follicle stimulating hormone receptor which is a G-coupled transmembrane receptor. Binding of theFSH to its receptor seems to induce phosphorylation and activation of the PI3K (Phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase) and Akt signaling pathway, which is known to regulate many other metabolic and related survival/maturation functionsin cells.

Common side effects

Decreased urination, Ovarian cysts, Accumulation of fluid in the cavity surrounding the lungs, Gastrointestinal discomfort, Ascites (accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity), Breast tenderness, Dehydration, Decreased level of salts in the body, Dry skin, Hair loss, Headache, Hyperstimulation syndrome, Rash, Urticaria
