How to use Nor Metrogyl Oral Suspension
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Nor Metrogyl Suspension is to be taken with food.
How Nor Metrogyl Oral Suspension works
Nor Metrogyl Suspension is a combination of two antibiotics: Metronidazole and Norfloxacin. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Norfloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
Nor Metrogyl Oral Suspension related warnings
Nor Metrogyl Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Nor Metrogyl Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Nor Metrogyl Suspension is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Nor Metrogyl Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Nor Metrogyl Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Nor Metrogyl Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Nor Metrogyl Suspension is not advised in patients with severe kidney disease.

my daughter of 02 month is coughing and sneezing from last two days a lot due to this she is geting trouble on feeding. Also she is on external feeding by LACTOGEN 1 . I went to doctor today and he prescribed CEFLOC 100 syrup 2.5 ml 2 tinesx5days and NOR-METROGYL 2.5 ml 2 timesx5days. plz suggest me should I proceed? or what should I do .Please give urgent reply as my daughter is hungry due to coughing.

Hello, at this age please follow up with nearest pediatrician for clinical evaluation. You can put nasoclear nasal drops SOS for nasal blockage.Please follow advice of your pediatrician and if no improvement show again.

Yes, the use of Nor Metrogyl can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water; Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.
Q. Can i take Nor Metrogyl while breastfeeding?
The use of Nor Metrogyl should be used with caution in nursing mothers as metronidazole passes into breast milk and could give the milk a bitter taste. Although it is not generally expected to be harmful, but you should always consult your doctor before taking the Nor Metrogyl.

The use of Nor Metrogyl should be avoided in patients with known allergy to any of the component or excipients of this medicine.
Q. Can i take alcohol while taking Nor Metrogyl?

Yes, the use of Nor Metrogyl can cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be reduced by chewing sugar-free gum or mints, brushing teeth after the meals and by staying hydrated

Yes, the use of Nor Metrogyl can cause nausea and vomiting. In case, you experience nausea while taking this medicine, take it with milk, food or with antacids. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods. If you start to experience vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Try small frequent sips of the liquid. Talk to your doctor if you have persistent vomiting and signs of dehydration like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicines without speaking to a doctor.
