Naratrex 2.5mg Tablet is used in acute attack of migraine.

Side effects of Naratrex Tablet


Throat pain, Weakness, Sleepiness, Dizziness, Nausea, Dry mouth, Jaw pain, Sensation of heaviness, Neck pain, Warm sensation, Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation).


How to use Naratrex Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Naratrex 2.5mg Tablet at a fixed time.

How Naratrex Tablet works

Migraine headaches are thought to result from the dilatation of blood vessels in the head. Naratrex 2.5mg tablet works by constricting (narrowing) these blood vessels, thereby relieving the migraine headaches.

  • To relieve migraine as soon as possible, take Naratrex as soon as the headache begins. 
  • Lying down in a quiet and dark room for a while after you use Naratrex may help to relieve the migraine. 
  • Take Naratrex only as prescribed by the doctor. Using too much Naratrex may increase the chances of side effects. 
  • Notify your doctor if your migraine headaches are occurring more often, than before you started using Naratrex.
  • Notify your doctor if you have used Naratrex for at least three consecutive months.
  • Avoid driving after taking as it may cause drowsiness and dizziness.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Naratrex, it can cause new and worse headaches.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Naratrex 2.5mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

If Naratrex 2.5mg Tablet is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding.
Naratrex 2.5mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired
, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Naratrex 2.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Naratrex 2.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
