How Milibact Injection works
Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam. Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against bacteria.

Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Driving
Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
There is limited information available on the use of Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Dose adjustment of Milibact 250 mg/125 mg Injection is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

Yes. Milibact can cause an allergic reaction and is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to a group of antibiotic called cephalosporins. Get emergency medical help if you have any of the signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Q. Can the use of Milibact cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, the use of Milibact can cause nausea and vomiting. In case, you experience nausea while taking this medicine, take it with milk, food or with antacids. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods. If you start to experience vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Try small frequent sips of the liquid. Talk to your doctor if you have persistent vomiting and signs of dehydration like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicines without speaking to a doctor.

No, Milibact can only be administered intravenously or intramuscularly, and the drug is completely absorbed. It is not available orally. For most infections, it is usually given once or twice a day.
