Dextran 40(10 g)

Uses

Dextran 40 is used in short term fluid replacement after trauma.

How it works

Dextran 40 are large molecular weight substances which remain resctricted within the blood vessels and generate oncotic pressure (pressure produced by proteins in the blood).

Common side effects

Abdominal pain, Allergic reaction, Bleeding, Nasal congestion, Nausea, Renal injury, Urticaria, Volume overload, Vomiting, Wheezing
