Pyrimethamine is used in the treatment of malaria.

How it works

Pyrimethamine belongs to a group of medicines called antiprotozoals. It is an antiparasitic and works by killing the parasites or preventing their growth in the blood stream.

Common side effects

Abnormal bruising, Abnormal skin pigmentation, Anemia, Change in blood test results, Dizziness, Headache, Vomiting, Weakness, Diarrhoea, Nausea

Uses

Sulphadoxine is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and malaria.

How it works

Sulphadoxine is an antibiotic. It stops bacteria from producing folic acid, a vitamin required for bacterial replication.
