It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Magprol-cr 200mg tablet at a fixed time.

Magnesium Valproate(200mg)


Magprol-cr 200mg tablet is used in the treatment of fits (seizures). It is also used to prevent abnormal mood swings in bipolar disorder patients.

How it works

Magprol-cr 200mg tablet belongs to a class of drugs called anticonvulsants. Magprol-cr 200mg tablet dissociates into magnesium and valproic acid ions in the gastrointestinal tract and increases the levels of certain chemical messengers in the central nervous system (CNS) thereby decreasing symptoms associated with fits and mood swings.

Common side effects

Nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting/sleepwetting), Pancreatic inflammation, Liver injury, Bone marrow depression, Extra pyramidal symptom, Gastrointestinal disorder, Hair loss, Hematological disorder, Increased ammonia level in blood, Reduced blood platelets, Tremor, Weight gain, Decreased white blood cell count
