How Low Dex Eye/Ear Drops works

Low Dex Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of four medicines: Sodium Tetraborate, Phenylephrine, Dexamethasone, and Boric Acid, which treat eye/ear infections. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which works by narrowing blood vessels of the eye/ear to relieve inflammation (redness and swelling). Dexamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye/ear red, swollen and itchy. Boric Acid is an antiseptic which treats bacterial infection and relieves irritation.
