How Litocar Injection works

Levocarnitine belongs to the class of medications called as amino acid derivative. It works by improving the low levels of carnitine in the body.

Litocar Injection related warnings

Interaction with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor.
Litocar 1000 mg Injection is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Litocar 1000 mg Injection is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Litocar 1000 mg Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Litocar 1000 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Litocar 1000 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Litocar 1000 mg Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Litocar 1000 mg Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Expert Advice

  • Take during or immediately after the meals and consume slowly.
  • Take at evenly spaced times throughout the day (every 3 or 4 hours).
  • Monitor your blood glucose levels regularly during levocarnitine treatment.
  • Take precautions during levocarnitine treatment as you may be at risk of bleeding.
  • Do not take this drug if you are allergic to levocarnitine or any of its ingredients. 
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
