Liofen 50mg Injection is generally administered by a healthcare professional. You should not self-administer this medicine at home. The dose and duration will depend on what you are taking it for and how well it helps your symptoms.

The most common side effects of this medicine include injection site reactions (such as pain, redness, and swelling), fatigue, drowsiness, weakness, and dizziness. Generally, a lower dose of this medicine is prescribed if a person has abnormally functioning kidneys or if a person is on dialysis.

Q. How long does Liofen 50mg Injection take to work?

Liofen 50mg Injection starts working after 0.5-1 hours when the injection is given as a bolus (a large amount of medication is infused at a time). The effect of the medicine can be observed after 4 hours of administration which will last for 4-8 hours. However, if it is given as a continuous infusion then it takes about 6-8 hours to show its effect which reaches its peak within 24 to 48 hours.

Q. What’s the most important thing that I should know about Liofen 50mg Injection?

Suddenly discontinuing intrathecal (given in spinal fluid) Liofen 50mg Injection injection may cause serious side effects such as high fever, severe muscle spasm, and rigidity. These side effects can progress to dangerous consequences and can even lead to death. Therefore, the medicine should be gradually reduced.
