How to use Krumex Tablet

Driving
Krumex 400 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Krumex 400 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Krumex 400 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Krumex 400 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Krumex 400 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you develop signs of jaundice like yellowing of eyes and skin, itching, and clay colored stools while taking this medicine.

Krumex is an antibiotic. It is an anthelmintic drug and is used in the treatment of many parasitic infections.
Krumex is used for the treatment of infections caused by helminths (worms) like Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm/threadworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus (hookworms), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Strongyloides stercoralis, animal hookworm larvae causing cutaneous larva migrans, and Opisthorchis viverrini (liver flukes) and Clonorchis sinensis. It is also indicated for the treatment of Hymenolepis nana and Taenia spp. (tapeworm) infections and has shown good activity against anaerobic protozoa like Giardia lamblia and Trichomonas vaginalis. Please consult your doctor before taking any treatment for worms as there could be many worms against which Krumex would not be effective.
Krumex works by killing the larva and the adult form of the worm by inhibiting tubulin polymerization which causes energy depletion and decreases the mobility of the worm and hence kills the helminth.
Q. Can I take Krumex with fluconazole?
Krumex can be taken with fluconazole. No drug-drug interactions have been reported between the two. However, interactions can occur. Please consult your doctor before taking the two medicines together.
