Uses

Isosorbide Mononitrate is used in the treatment of angina (chest pain) and heart failure.

How it works

Isosorbide Mononitrate reduces the workload of the heart. As a result, heart muscle does not need as much blood and oxygen supply.

Aspirin(ASA) is used in the treatment of fever, headache, migraine, joint pain, muscular pain, dental pain, menstrual pain and prevention of heart attack.

How it works

Aspirin (acetyl salicylic acid) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Aspirin reduces the production of a chemical (prostaglandin) in the body by blocking the enzyme that makes prostaglandins (cyclooxygenase). Therefore,  swelling, pain, and fever are reduced. This also helps in blood thinning and in preventing clotting.

Take isosorbide mononitrate by mouth on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Do not take isosorbide mononitrate, If you are allergic to isosorbide mononitrate or any of the other ingredients. Check with your doctor before taking isosorbide mononitrate, if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.

Isosorbide mononitrate is not indicated for relief of acute anginal attacks The drug can  can cause severe headaches, especially when you first start using it. These headaches may gradually become less severe as you continue to use the medication. Do not stop taking isosorbide mononitrate. Ask your doctor before using any headache pain medication.
