Introduction of Insonia Tablet

Insonia 5 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat of insomnia. It does not affect total sleep time. However, it reduces sleep onset time and frequent awakening at night.

Insonia 5 mg Tablet is taken by mouth without food as when taken after high fat meal its effect reduces. Take this medicine before going to sleep as it has rapid action. This medicine should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor as it is habit forming. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.

Some common side effects of this medicine includes dry mouth, diarrhea, visual disturbances and hallucinations. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus and do not take alcohol as it may worsen the dizziness. You should stop taking this medication and inform doctor if you experience sleep driving and memory loss. Be aware that you should never self prescribe this medicine to other people having sleep problems as it may harm them.

How to use Insonia Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Insonia 5 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Insonia Tablet works

Insonia 5 mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called non-benzodiazepine hypnotics. It has hypnotic, sedative, and anticonvulsant (manages fits) properties. It works by binding of the GABAA receptor chloride channel macromolecular complex (a chemical messenger) that slows the activity of the nerve cells in the brain and helps fall asleep.

Insonia 5 mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Insonia 5 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Insonia 5 mg Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Insonia 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Insonia 5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Insonia 5 mg Tablet is generally started at a low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Insonia Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Insonia 5 mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Why you have insonia ,any other health issue. Start with zzowin tablet 2 at night , fix the time of sllep, head massage with any good oil is also good for inducing sleep.
I have been taking Saraswatarishtam and Medhavati for the last 4 months. I have seen an improvement in depression and am not tense any longer but it has not cured my insomnia. I want to know if it is safe to continue Saraswatarishtam for long periods of time and if there is any other medicine for general well being. Also, what do i do for insomnia?

Therefore, doctors should carefully take history of drug abuse from the patient. Moreover, patients with a history of drug abuse or addiction should be closely monitored during Insonia therapy.

Insonia is used for short-term (2-4 weeks) treatment of insomnia (difficulty falling asleep). It should be taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The dose and duration of treatment should not be exceeded else it may lead to dependence (addiction towards medicine).

Q. Does Insonia cause dry mouth and affect weight?

Yes, dry mouth is a common side effect of Insonia, whereas weight gain is less common with Insonia. If you experience weight gain, it could be due to increased appetite.

Insonia starts working as soon as you take it and may make you very sleepy. You may remain sleepy for some time after you take the medication. Plan to go to bed right after you take Insonia and to stay in bed for 7 to 8 hours. You can improve your sleep by avoiding caffeine and nicotine, especially late in the day. Avoid exercise during the four hours before bedtime; daily exercise is beneficial to sleep, but can interfere if done close to bedtime. Avoid large meals in the evening. Avoid taking naps. Go to sleep and wake up at the same time each day. Keep the bedroom as dark as possible and maintain a comfortable temperature. Set aside a time to relax before bed and use relaxation techniques.
