It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Heximar 0.005% w/w ointment at a fixed time.
Interaction with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor.
Heximar 0.005% w/w ointment may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Either animal studies have shown adverse effect on fetus and there are no human studies or studies in human and animals are not available. It should be given only if potential benefits justifies risk to the fetus. Please consult your doctor.

Calcipotriol(0.005% W/W)


Heximar 0.005% w/w ointment is used in treatment of psoriasis (development of red/silver colored scaly patches on skin).

How it works

Heximar 0.005% w/w ointment is a synthetic form of vitamin D belonging to the class of medicines called ‘anti-psoriatics’. Heximar 0.005% w/w ointment lowers down the rate with which skin cells grow, thereby controlling the psoriatic condition.

  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. In case you have been advised to use this drug while breast feeding, do not apply it on breast area.
  • Before using calcipotriol, inform your doctor if you are taking ultraviolet (UV) light treatment.
  • Excessive exposure to sunlight should be avoided while on this treatment.
  • If you have been diagnosed with psoriasis types like ‘generalised pustular psoriasis’ or ‘erythrodermic exfoliative psoriasis’, consult your doctor before using calcipotriol.
  • Application of calcipotriol on face is not recommended.
