How to use Hepamol Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Hepamol Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Hepamol Syrup works

Hepamol Syrup is a combination of two medicines: paracetamol and racemethionine which relieve pain and fever. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that causes fever and pain. Racemethionine is an amino acid which promotes the production of cartilage (soft tissue around the joints) leading to joint repair.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Taking Paracetamol / Acetaminophen+Racemethionine with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy

Hepamol Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Hepamol Syrup should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Driving
It is not known whether Hepamol Syrup alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
CAUTION
Hepamol Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Hepamol Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
