How to use Genogyl N Suspension

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension is to be taken with food.
Taking it empty stomach can cause stomach upset.

How Genogyl N Suspension works

Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension is a combination of two antibiotics: Nalidixic Acid and Metronidazole. Nalidixic Acid works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy

Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
If a single dose of Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised if this medicine is to be taken for a long time.
Liver
CAUTION
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
