How to use Genogyl N Suspension

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension is to be taken with food.
Taking it empty stomach can cause stomach upset.

How Genogyl N Suspension works

Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension is a combination of two antibiotics: Nalidixic Acid and Metronidazole. Nalidixic Acid works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Alcohol
UNSAFE
Consuming alcohol while taking Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Pregnancy

Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension should be used with caution during breatfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
If a single dose of Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.
Driving
UNSAFE
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised if this medicine is to be taken for a long time.
Liver
CAUTION
Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Genogyl N 150mg/100mg Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

  • Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

No, do not stop taking Genogyl N and complete the full course of treatment even if you are feeling better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.

Q. What if I miss my dose?

Take Genogyl N as soon as you remember it. However, do not take it if it's almost time for your next dose. Also, do not take an extra dose to make up for your missed dose.
