GeneVac-B Vaccine is used to prevent Hepatitis B virus infection.

Neuropathy, Pain, Paralysis, Abdominal pain, Anaphylactic reaction, Angioedema (swelling of deeper layers of skin), Convulsion, Diarrhoea, Dizziness, Fatigue, Fever, Headache, Decreased blood pressure, Itching, Feeling of discomfort, Meningitis, Muscle pain, Nausea, Rash, Skin redness, Vomiting, Weakness.

How GeneVac-B Injection works

Genevac-b vaccine is a vaccine. It helps develop immunity by initiating a mild infection. This type of infection does not cause illness, but it does stimulate the body's immune system to produce antibodies to protect against any future infections.

  • Inform your doctor before taking the vaccine if you have a weakened immune system due to cancer, use of anti-cancer drugs, dialysis or HIV infection.
  • Inform your doctor before taking the vaccine if you are old, obese or if you smoke.
  • Tell your doctor if you fainted during earlier vaccination with hepatitis B or if you have problems with blood clotting or if you have hepatitis B infection or live in an area prone to hepatitis B infection.
  • Do not drive or operate heavy machinery as the vaccine may make you feel dizzy.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take if allergic to hepatitis B or any other vaccines or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take if having fever.

GeneVac-B Vaccine may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
GeneVac-B Vaccine is safe to use during lactation. Human st
udies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
GeneVac-B Vaccine does not usually affect your ability to drive.
GeneVac-B Vaccine is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of GeneVac-B Vaccine is recommended.

However, please inform your doctor if you have an underlying kidney disease.
GeneVac-B Vaccine is probably safe to use in patients with l
iver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of GeneVac-B Vaccine may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
