Furosemide(20 mg)

Uses

Furosemide is used in the treatment of fluid retention (edema), heart failure, increased blood pressure and hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in blood).

How it works

Furosemide lowers swelling by increasing the amount of urine, which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body.

Common side effects

Frequent urge to urinate, Jaundice, Abnormal liver function tests, Acne-like rash, Allergic reaction, Itching, Blisters on skin, Blurred vision, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Difficulty in swallowing, Shortness of breath, Headache, Hearing loss, Ringing in ear, Urticaria, Fever
Triamterene(50 mg)

Uses

Triamterene is used in the treatment of increased blood pressure , heart failure, cirrhosis and low potassium.

How it works

Triamterene lowers blood pressure and swelling by increasing the amount of urine, which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Triamterene does this without loss of potassium from the body.

Common side effects

Acne-like rash, Bruise, Bleeding, Heart rate irregular, Bradycardia, Decreased blood pressure, Dry mouth, Difficulty in swalloing, Shortness of breath, Dizziness, Headache, Influenza like symptoms, Loss of appetite, Muscle weakness, Sore throat, Stomach upset, Vomiting, Diarrhoea
