Fricold 500 mg/25 mg/5 mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of common cold symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, and congestion or stuffiness. It also blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain, inflammation, and fever.



Fricold 500 mg/25 mg/5 mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Depending on the severity of your underlying illness, your doctor will decide the precise dose. Inform your doctor if you are also taking other medications containing paracetamol to avoid an overdose.

It may cause side effects like nausea, insomnia, and dryness in mouth in some patients. Inform your doctor immediately if any rash or allergic reaction is observed while taking this medicine.

How Fricold Tablet works

Fricold 500 mg/25 mg/5 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, Phenylpropanolamine and Cetirizine which relieve common cold symptoms. Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is a analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that causes fever and pain. Phenylpropanolamine is a sympathomimetic agonist. It narrows blood vessels in the nose to relieve congestion. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Driving

Kidney
CAUTION
Fricold 500 mg/25 mg/5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Fricold 500 mg/25 mg/5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. May cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Fricold 500 mg/25 mg/5 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Fricold 500 mg/25 mg/5 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
