Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bipolar depression. It refers to the "lows," or depressive phase, of bipolar disorder.
Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Dryness in mouth, Weight gain, Sleepiness, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Dizziness, Muscle rigidity, Restlessness, Tremor, Delayed ejaculation, Anorgasmia (decreased orgasm), Low sexual desire.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Fostera 20 mg/5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Fluoxetine and Olanzapine. Fluoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) which works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic which works by balancing the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts, and behavior. Together, they improve mood and physical symptoms of depression and relieve symptoms of panic and obsessive disorders.
