Medicine Overview of Fosavance Tablet
Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet is used in the treatment of osteoporosis
Headache, Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Back pain, Indigestion, Diarrhoea, Heartburn.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Take it in the morning right after getting up from the bed. Do not drink or eat anything atleast for 30 minutes after taking this medicine.
Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Alendronic Acid and Vitamin D3 which treat osteoporosis. Alendronic Acid is a bisphosphonate. It works by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bone and minimizes the risk of fractures. Vitamin D3 helps protect your bones, both by increasing calcium absorption and by supporting muscles needed to avoid falls.

Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
If you are taking Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet during breastfeeding, monitor baby's blood calcium levels during the first two months.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet is not expected to have any effects but in rare cases, it may cause dizziness, severe muscle, joint and bone pain and eye pain or inflammation. This may affect your ability to drive.
Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Fosavance 70 mg/5600 IU Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
