Fortagesic Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Paracetamol / Acetaminophen and Pentazocine which relieve severe pain. Paracetamol / Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain. Pentazocine is an opoid which works by blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.
Taking Paracetamol / Acetaminophen+Pentazocine with alcohol can cause liver damage.

Fortagesic Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Fortagesic Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Fortagesic Tablet may cause sedation especially if taken with alcohol. This may impair your driving ability.
Fortagesic Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Fortagesic Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
