How to use Fepanil Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fepanil 650 Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Fepanil Tablet works

Fepanil 650 Tablet is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.

Fepanil Tablet related warnings

Alcohol
CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Fepanil 650 Tablet. Taking Paracetamol/Acetaminophen with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy
SAFE
Fepanil 650 Tablet is safe to use during pregnancy.
Adequate and well-controlled human studies have shown low or no risk.
Lactation
SAFE
Fepanil 650 Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Fepanil 650 Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Fepanil 650 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Fepanil 650 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, Fepanil 650 Tablet contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.
Liver
CAUTION
Fepanil 650 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Fepanil 650 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Fepanil 650 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

I need a diagnosis to suggest you medicine or give opinion. Diagnosis cannot be done without clinical examination of patient.There are many underlying causes of your symptoms. Different cause needs different treatment. Specific treatment cannot be given unless we establish exact underlying cause. Final and perfect diagnosis cannot be done without doing clinical examination of child. Please consult me or any other Paediatrician. will take detail history and will examine your child in detail. At time may ask you relevant investigations if necessary. All information will be used to determine exact underlying cause of problem. Depending upon cause will prescribe you treatment. Your child may need antibiotics. It is mandatory for the customer to have a prescription for the prescription medicines he/she is procuring. Valid prescription cannot be given without diagnosis.

FAQs

Q. What if my child vomits after taking Fepanil?

If your child vomits in less than 30 minutes after having a dose of Fepanil tablets or syrup, give him/her the same dose again. If your child vomits more than 30 minutes after a dose of tablets or syrup, you do not need to give him/her another dose, until the next normal dose.

Q. When will my child feel better after taking Fepanil?

Usually your child will feel better after about half an hour of taking Fepanil.

Q. How often can I give Fepanil to my child?

You should only give four doses of Fepanil in 24 hours. There should be a gap of at least 4 hours between two doses. Do not give Fepanil for more than 3 days to your child without first talking to your doctor.

Q. Can I give Fepanil syrup to my child for cold?

Fepanil along with relieving fever also helps in controlling problems associated with cold such as headache and earache associated with cold. However, it does help relieve stuffy nose and cough for which doctor’s advice is required.

Q. Does Fepanil make babies sleepy?

No, Fepanil does not make babies sleepy, contrary to the common belief.

Q. Is Fepanil safe for children?

If used as directed by the physician, Fepanil is safe for children.

Q. Is Fepanil an antibiotic?

No, Fepanil is not an antibiotic. It works as a painkiller and as a medicine which brings down high fever.

Q. Can I give my child Fepanil and ibuprofen together?

Ibuprofen and Fepanil are safe painkillers which can be given to children, though both should not be used together. Instead, if you have given your child Fepanil and still he/she is feverish or in pain you could try ibuprofen instead, when the next dose is due.
