Ducept capsule is used to relieve symptoms caused due to enlargement of prostate gland (benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)) and to reduce risk of acute urinary retention (AUR) and need for surgery in patients with moderate to severe symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

How it works

Ducept capsule belong to a class of medications called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It works by blocking the production of a natural substance (dihydrotestosterone) that enlarges the prostate.

  • If a woman comes in contact with leaking dutasteride capsules she should Wash  the affected area immediately with soap and water.
Use a condom during sexual intercourse. Do not donate blood while taking dutasteride and for at least 6 months after your treatment ends. Dutasteride can be carried in the blood and could cause birth defects, if a pregnant women receives a transfusion with blood that contains dutasteride. Consult your doctor if you notice an unusual rash, swelling in your mouth, tightness in your chest, or trouble breathing.
