Cosome Cough Syrup


Overview

Introduction

Cosome Cough Syrup is used to treat common cold symptoms. It provides relief from runny nose, sneezing, itching and watery eyes. It thins and loosens mucus in the nose, windpipe and making it easier to cough out.

It's better to take Cosome Cough Syrup in a dose and duration advised by the doctor. Before taking it, inform doctor if you have suffered or are currently suffering from any stomach, liver or kidney disease. You may get rash, irritation in ear, nausea and headache as a side effects. You may also experience dizziness after taking it, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. While taking it it's better to avoid alcohol intake as it may worsen your side effects.

How to use Cosome Expectorant

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Cosome Cough Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Cosome Expectorant works

Cosome Cough Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Bromhexine, chlorpheniramine, and phenylephrine which relieve common cold symptoms. Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Pregnancy

Cosome Cough Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Information regarding the use of Cosome Cough Syrup during lactation is not available. Please consult your doctor.
Driving
UNSAFE
Cosome Cough Syrup may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Cosome Cough Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Cosome Cough Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Cosome Cough Syrup may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Cosome Cough Syrup should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cosome Cough Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
