Combefive Injection is a prescription medicine. This combination of vaccines is used to prevent Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Hepatitis B and Haemophilus Influenzae type b infections. It promotes the immune system to act against microorganisms to prevent such infections.

Combefive Injection is to be administered by a healthcare professional. It may cause redness, pain, and swelling at the site of injection. However, this is temporary and usually resolves on its own. Do not skip any doses and follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get maximum benefit.

Combefive Injection is generally safe to use with minimal side effects. However, it may cause a few side effects such as fever, vomiting, headache, etc. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or bother you. Your doctor will suggest ways to cope up with the side effects.

How to cope with side effects?

  • Coping with Injection site redness
    Try to change the area of injection and the exact site of injection each time. Apply a cold compress to the injection site. These symptoms are usually mild and should only last a few hours. You can ask your doctor to recommend a medicine if it is bothering you.
  • Coping with Pain
    Some people use herbal remedies, acupuncture and psychological therapies to manage pain. Using hot and cold compress can also help reduce the pain temporarily. Ask your doctor about suitable painkillers if it bothers you or does not go away.

How Combefive Injection works

Combefive Injection is a combination of five vaccines. They help develop immunity by initiating a mild infection. This type of infection does not cause illness but stimulates the body's immune system to produce antibodies (proteins) to protect against any future infections.

Safety Advice

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Combefive Injection. Please consult your doctor.
Combefive Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Combefive Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
It is not known whether Combefive Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Combefive Injection is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Combefive Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
