How to use Cloral Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. It is better to take Cloral 125mg Syrup empty stomach (1 hour before food or 2 hours after food).

How Cloral Syrup works

Cloral 125mg syrup is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Chloramphenicol tablet/capsule/oral suspension is best taken with a full glass (8 ounces) of water on an empty stomach (either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals), unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Chloramphenicol may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine. Chloramphenicol may reduce the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in your blood. Monitor blood counts and plasma concentration before and during treatment. To prevent bleeding, avoid situations in which bruising or injury may occur. Chloramphenicol may lower your body's ability to fight infection. Prevent infection by avoiding contact with people with colds or other infections. Notify your doctor of any signs of infection, including fever, sore throat, rash, or chills, If you are using the drug for eye infection, do not wear your contact lenses during the course of treatment.
