How to use Cartiquin Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Cartiquin Tablet works

Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet is a Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatoid Drug (DMARD). It works by suppressing the overactivity of the immune system that causes inflammation (swelling) and pain in the joints. This slows the progression of the underlying disease.

  • You have been prescribed Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet for the treatment of autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythematosus.
  • Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.
  • It can take 8-12 weeks for Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet to work. Keep taking it as prescribed.
  • Do not take medicines that neutralise stomach acids (antacids) four hours before and after taking Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet as they can stop the medicine from being absorbed properly from your gut.
  • Have regular eye tests done while you are taking this medicine. Stop taking Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet and immediately inform your doctor if you notice any changes in your vision.
  • It can cause lowering of blood glucose level. Inform your doctor if you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxious feeling.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
You may get eye problems while taking this medicine. This may affect your ability to drive.
Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cartiquin 200 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If the nerve compression is proven on MRI and is causing the symptoms as on clinical examination then I think the only solution would be surgery and the decompression of the nerveI would advise you to visit the clinic and get examined and consult a neuro spine surgeon who will be able to go to a better justice in your case
