Uses of Bonvid Tablet

Bonvid 150mg Tablet is used in the treatment of osteoporosis
This disease mostly occurs in women after menopause, but can sometimes be seen in men. It can also occur in patients receiving steroids.

Side effects of Bonvid Tablet


Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Headache, Heartburn, Difficulty in swallowing.


How to use Bonvid Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Bonvid 150mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How Bonvid Tablet works

Bonvid 150mg Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.

Expert advice for Bonvid Tablet

  • Take Bonvid in the morning on an empty stomach with water.
  • Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after taking Bonvid.
  • Maintain an upright posture for 30 minutes after taking Bonvid.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw, throat, chest, abdomen, hips or thighs.
  • Inform your doctor if you are about to undergo any major dental procedures, as Bonvid may need to be discontinued temporarily.

It is generally safe to consume alcohol with Bonvid 150mg Tablet.
Bonvid 150mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Bonvid 150mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation
. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Bonvid 150mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Bonvid 150mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Bonvid 150mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

No dose adjustment is recommended for patients with mild or moderate renal impairment.
Bonvid 150mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with
liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Bonvid 150mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Severely interacts with other drugs like

Missed Dosageuses

If you miss a dose of Ibandronic Acid, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
