Biospan 20 mg Injection is used in the treatment of pain due to smooth muscle spasm. It is used to relieve cramps in the muscles of stomach, intestine, bladder and ureter. It can also be used to relieve the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Biospan 20 mg Injection is an anticholinergic medication. It works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.
Biospan 20 mg Injection may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Biospan 20 mg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Biospan 20 mg Injection is safe to use during lactation.
Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby. Single dose is unlikely to interfere with breastfeeding, milk secretion may decrease during long-term use.
Biospan 20 mg Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

If you miss a dose of Biospan 20 mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
