How to use Becloderm Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How Becloderm Cream works

Becloderm 0.025% cream is a topical corticosteroid (anti-inflammatory medicine). It works by reducing redness, itching, and swelling caused by various skin conditions.

Expert advice for Becloderm Cream

You may need to apply the cream under an airtight dressing for certain duration of therapy, as recommended by your doctor.  As per your doctor’s advice, if the cream is applied on the face then there is no need of the dressing as the face skin thins easily. Do not mix with any other creams or ointments. Inform your doctor if symptoms do not disappear after 2 to 4 weeks of applying the cream. Exercise caution when used in children, as the treatment should not last for more than 5 days, unless instructed by your doctor.  Avoid direct contact of cream with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water immediately and seek immediate medical attention. Inform your doctor immediately in case you swallow the cream. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Becloderm 0.025% Cream may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Becloderm 0.025% Cream is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Becloderm 0.025% Cream via licking.
Becloderm 0.025% Cream does not usually affect your ability to drive.
