Salbutamol(1 mg)

Salbutamol is used to prevent reversible airways obstruction occurring during asthma, infections of airway passages (bronchitis), lung disorder in which the flow of air to the lungs is blocked (emphysema), and other lung diseases.

How it works

Salbutamol is an adrenergic receptor (?2) agonist. It works by relaxing the muscles in the walls of the small airways in the lungs, which helps to open up the airways and make breathing easier.

Common side effects

Nervousness, Chest pain, Cough, Dizziness, Headache, Heartburn, Muscle cramp, Swelling, Skin rash, Tachycardia, Heart rate irregular, Tremor, Urticaria
Sodium Cromoglycate(100 mg)

Sodium cromoglycate is used to treat symptoms of various allergic reactions such as allergic conjunctivitis (irritation and redness in the membrane covering the eye), eye symptoms of hay fever (itchy, red watery eyes), allergic rhinitis (sneezing, stuffy, runny nose due to inflammation of the inner moist skin lining the nose), preventive treatment of  asthma (wheezing, shortness of breath, and troubled breathing) and food allergies (only in cases where the actual allergy causing food ingredient has been determined and intake restricted).

How it works

Sodium cromoglycate inhibits the release of allergy causing chemicals from specialized cells called ‘mast cells’ (present in eyes, nose, air passages, along the digestive tract etc.) and thus interferes with the development and progression of allergic reactions.

Common side effects

Vomiting, Nausea, Blurred vision, Chest tightness, Headache, Skin rash, Stinging in the eyes, Throat irritation
