How to use Anticox II Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Anticox II Tablet works

Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Rifampicin and Isoniazid which treat tuberculosis (TB). Rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by TB bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce. Isoniazid prevents these bacteria from forming their own protective covering. Together, they kill the bacteria and eradicate the infection.

Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation

Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet can cause fits, mental health problems and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause loss of vision.) This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney

Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver

  • Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Anticox II Kid 100 mg/100 mg Tablet as this may increase the risk of side effects on the liver.
