How to use Allercet Cold Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Allercet Cold 5mg/10mg/500mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Allercet Cold Tablet works

Allercet Cold 5mg/10mg/500mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Levocetirizine, Phenylephrine and Paracetamol / Acetaminophen which relieve common cold symptoms. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks histamine (a chemical messenger) to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Paracetamol / Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever.

Pregnancy

It is not recommended to use Allercet cold if you have high blood pressure (hypertension), any underlying serious heart condition or cardiovascular disorder, any history of stomach ulcers, overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), unless advised by the doctor. The use of Allercet cold should also be avoided if you are taking antidepressant drugs called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI’s) like phenelzine and isocarboxazid or tricyclic antidepressants like imipramine and amitriptyline.
