Introduction of Aceno Tablet

Aceno 1 mg Tablet is an oral anticoagulant which helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots in the legs, lungs, brain, and heart.

To get the maximum benefit of Aceno 1 mg Tablet, take it at the same time every day. It is required to get regular blood tests (PT/INR) done to make sure this medicine is working properly. This medicine can increase the risk of bleeding, so be careful while shaving, cutting nails, using sharp objects, or engaging in contact sports (e.g., football, wrestling). Let your doctor know if you see blood in your vomits, urine, or stool (black or tarry).

How to use Aceno Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aceno 1 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Aceno Tablet works

Aceno 1 mg Tablet is an oral anticoagulant. It acts by preventing the formation of harmful blood clots. Although it does not dissolve the existing blood clots, it inhibits them from growing larger and causing serious problems.

Pregnancy

Aceno 1 mg Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Aceno 1 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving

Aceno 1 mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Aceno 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Aceno 1 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Aceno 1 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Aceno 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Aceno 1 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Aceno 1 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Aceno Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Aceno 1 mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Aceno 1 mg Tablet increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, using sharp objects or engaging in contact sports (e.g. football, wrestling).

Suffering from pulmonary embolism (recurrent venous thrombosis)since 2014.Admitted in Asian hospital Faridabad for treatment in 2014(case summery is attached)now from one week suffering from breathlessness, congestion and cough and fainted on two occasions.l want to know the full treatment and wheather this would be treated by cardiologist or pulmonologist

Hi Doctor good day I was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism in the year 2005 I was on warfarin for 6 months, till date I am on blood thinners anticoagulant tablets how long I can continue. If you stop taking anticoagulant tablets is there chance of getting a repeat episode. Do advice asap.

Q. How long do I need to take Aceno?

You should continue taking Aceno for as long as recommended by your doctor. Depending upon the condition you are being treated for, you may have to take it for several months or years or maybe for the rest of your life.

Q. What should I avoid while taking Aceno?

You should avoid alcohol while taking Aceno as alcohol may interfere with working of Aceno. In addition to that, avoid cranberry juice or other cranberry products as there may be a risk of enhanced blood thinning. Avoid breastfeeding or getting pregnant as it may harm your child.

Q. Do I need to stop Aceno if I have to undergo a surgery?

Depending on the type of surgery that is to be performed, your doctor will tell you whether to continue or stop Aceno. It will be decided by your doctor after weighing the risks and benefits of discontinuing Aceno.

Q. Is Aceno same as warfarin?

Both Aceno and warfarin are blood thinners, but they have some differences. Warfarin has a more stable blood thinning effect.

Q. How long does it take for Aceno to start working?

It takes a little longer for Aceno to start working. On an average, it may take 3-4 days for Aceno to show its blood-thinning effect. For these 3-4 days, heparin may be used and then discontinued.

Q. What if I forget to take a dose?

If you forget to take a dose of Aceno, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for your next dose then skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose and continue your normal schedule. Keep a diary or set a reminder, so that you do not forget it often.

Q. What monitoring is required while taking Aceno?

The bleeding times should be carefully monitored from 2nd or 3rd dose of Aceno and till the clotting status is stabilized. Thereafter, the bleeding time can be monitored monthly. This frequency may be more in elderly.
