Hormonal pills, birth control injections, barrier techniques (like condoms), etc. are some effective methods of contraception in women with epilepsy. However, some hormonal pills interact with anti-epileptic drugs. In such cases, either an alternative method of contraceptive should be chosen, or interaction between the two therapies should be well understood to avoid drug interactions. Consult with your doctor to know the right contraceptive method if you are on anti-epileptic medications or suffering from epilepsy.
The information given above is for Contraception which is the active ingredient of Contraception.

Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder (neurological disorder) in which nerve cell activity in the brain becomes disrupted, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations and sometimes loss of consciousness. Medicines for epilepsy are initially recommended for at least 3 years of seizure free interval but may continue longer depending on recurrence. Epileptic patient needs to carry a warning card or a medical emergency bracelet with identification details, his/ her epilepsy status and what people can do if fit occurs in public place. Life style modifications- 1. Take your medication correctly. Don't adjust your dosage before talking to your doctor. If you feel your medication should be changed, discuss it with your doctor. 2. Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can trigger seizures. Be sure to get adequate rest every night. 3. Exercise. Exercising may help keep you physically healthy and reduce depression. Make sure to drink enough water and rest if you get tired during exercise.
