Why is Anemia Screening Essential?<\/strong>
\nAnemia is caused by low hemoglobin levels or red blood cell (RBC) counts. It is a highly prevalent condition that impacts nearly one-third of the global population. As age advances, the prevalence of anemia tends to rise, with women of reproductive age, pregnant women, and the elderly particularly susceptible*. For the same reason, one of India’s largest healthcare platforms, comprising e-pharmacy, e-diagnostics, and e-consult services, Tata 1mg, is pioneering this campaign for people in need. Based on cumulative data of three months, Tata 1mg has revealed that hemoglobin deficiency is widespread among women of various ages and socio-economic backgrounds. Astonishingly, approximately 31% of individuals between 0 to 14 years old and 43% of those aged over 45 also show indications of anemia.
\nWe at Tata 1mg Labs pledge to collaborate with multiple NGOs to ensure the campaign reaches those in need and aim to conduct Anemia screening tests through camps held across multiple cities over the next two quarters.<\/p>\n
