One of the most common reasons for these symptoms could be vitamin D deficiency. \u00a0About 83% females and 85% males in India are reported to have low Vitamin D levels. Making it very important for each one of us to know and practice ways to get our daily Vitamin D.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vitamin D Deficiency:<\/span><\/i> <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.1mg.com\/2015\/06\/03\/vitamin-d-deficiency\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facts and Implications<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get Vitamin D from Sunlight<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most people get some vitamin D from sunlight. When the sun shines on your bare skin, your body makes its own vitamin D. The paler your skin type the more easily your skin can produce vitamin D. Here are some quick tips to keep in mind :<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 . In winters, sit under the <\/span><b>sun closer to midday<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 .<\/span><b> Fair-skinned<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> people need around <\/span><b>5-10 minutes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on a sunny day, a few times a week. People with <\/span><b>darker skin tone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the elderly need around <\/span><b>20-30 minutes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of sun exposure<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 . <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Expose a large area<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of your skin, such as your back, rather than your face or arms, to make the most of the sunlight<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4 . <\/span><b>Do not apply sunscreen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when exposing your body to sunlight as this might interfere with the production of vitamin D<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5 . Sunlight passing <strong>through glass does not boost<\/strong> your vitamin D levels<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 . <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t tan or burn your skin to get the vitamin D you need<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get Vitamin D from Foods<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the foods we eat have no naturally occurring vitamin D. Some foods that have vitamin D include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 . Milk fortified with Vitamin D<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 . Mushrooms<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 . Fortified Cereals<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4 . Egg yolk<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5 . There are two kinds of supplements : <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 . D2 (ergocalciferol), which is the type found in food<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 . D3 (cholecalciferol), which is the type made from sunlight<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though produced differently, both can raise vitamin D levels in your blood.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Always consult a doctor before starting any vitamin supplement.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Optimal Level of Vitamin D<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A level of 20 nanograms\/milliliter to 50 ng\/mL is considered adequate for healthy people. A level less than 12 ng\/mL indicates vitamin D deficiency.
