Daily studying, or prepping, allows the brain to encode information in long-term memory. Cramming may allow for short-term memory recall, but knowledge is lost immediately post-exam. It’s simply not an efficient means of prepping.

Smart students have developed the habits of preparing a little bit at a time so as not to panic. Studying daily means students remain calm and confident, even during finals week.

By focusing on understanding the concepts regularly, rather than memorizing the day prior to the test, they have a greater understanding and are able to critically think and problem-solve.

Consistent daily study means there is ample time for assessment, re-learning, or revisions prior to finals. Smart students can work on their weak areas rather than days before attempting to cover an entire chapters-worth of information.

Daily preparation fosters discipline, time management, and consistency. These are important skills for academics and in real life.

A succession of small steps is the path to success - NOT a big rush at the end of everything. Utilize the process of low-stakes, day-in-and-day-out-equally prepared learning to boost your calm, deep learning, and to be able to perform well as a real success.
