Bright yellow urine after taking vitamins is something most people panic about unnecessarily. In most cases it is completely harmless and a sign your body is processing them properly.

It Is Usually Completely Normal

Riboflavin has a naturally bright yellow pigment. Since it is water soluble your body flushes out whatever it does not need and that excess is what turns your urine that vivid yellow colour.

If you take a B complex or multivitamin containing B vitamins expect yellow urine. It simply means your body is processing and excreting the excess which is completely normal.

It does not mean you are overdosing. It just means your body has absorbed what it needs and is getting rid of the rest efficiently.

Bright Yellow Does Not Mean Too Much

Normal vitamin yellow is bright and clear. If your urine looks orange dark brown or cloudy or if you feel pain while urinating see a doctor as those are unrelated to vitamins.

When To Actually Worry

Taking vitamins and seeing yellow urine is your body doing exactly what it should. Stay hydrated and do not stress about it.
