-Heat rash (prickly heat) -Heat edema (swelling) -Muscle cramps Fainting or heat syncope

-Extreme thirst -Dizziness or fainting -Headache, nausea; vomiting -Dark yellow urine -Rapid breathing or fast heart rate

-Confusion, seizures or coma -Hot, red and dry skin -Body temperature >104°F -Severe headache, anxiety, rapid heart rate

You need to be extra cautious with: -Young children -Elderly people -People with underlying heart, lung or kidney issues

-Drink often, even when not thirsty -Carry water with you when traveling -Consider ORS or homemade drinks like lemon water or buttermilk

-Choose clothing made from cotton & light colours -Cover your head with a cap or cloth -Use sun glasses & umbrellas for added protection

-Heavy strenuous outdoor activity during peak hours of heat and sun -Any alcohol, caffeine, and sugary soft drinks (dehydrating) -Excessive consumption of tobacco
