Can't stay still for meditation?

You're not the only one! I'm providing you with 5 easy tips to help you stay focused, calm, and consistent in your meditation practice, especially as a beginner.

Only 2-5 min starting daily. Less time = less restlessness. And shorter time = more consistency. Lessening the demands of meditation for beginners is always a good idea.

You do not have to sit cross-legged! Sit on a chair, use cushions, cushion your back on the wall. Comfort allows your body to relax and your mind to focus.

Slow and deep inhales and exhales. When you focus on your breath, it clearly allows your mind to be anchored. This will allow less distraction away from your breathing, and hopefully no racing thoughts during your meditation practice.

A guided meditation is an even better way to help newcomers focus because they just have to listen to a calm voice and follow it. It's less likely to feel lost without direction and mirror my intention.

It's OK to let your mind wander. Rather than battle thoughts, simply notice and return your focus to the breath, or your mantra.

Early morning, or right before bed are ideal times. Quiet times allow you to focus with little distraction, furthering a peaceful environment.
