In Japan, a town is preparing an ordinance that limits smartphone use to 2 hours a day for residents.

On August 25, the municipal assembly proposed a bill to create an ordinance encouraging residents to limit smartphone use. The ordinance is not legally binding, but is intended to lead to behavioral change.

-Children (6–12 years): No screens after 9 PM -Teenagers & Adults: Devices shut off by 10 PM -All residents: Limit smartphone use to 2 hours every day
