How to stay focused while you are having cold & cough?

Cold illnesses may make you feel tired and unfocused; the following healthy habits promote recovery while providing a way to stay focused while sick.

Sleep provides the brain with the opportunity to recover more quickly, enhances the ability to concentrate, and improves the body's immunity when it is trying to fight off disease.

Ingesting warm fluids such as herbal teas or soups can relieve your sore throat and congestion, while also keeping you hydrated. Dehydration can lead to an increase in mental fatigue.

Warm Liquids & Drinking Enough Fluid

Working in short bursts with frequent breaks will allow you to perform work efficiently at a slower pace and prevent yourself from exerting too much physical energy to accomplish your tasks.

Eating meals that are easy to digest will allow your body to maintain its energy level and not contribute so much to creating brain fog as your body is trying to recover from a cold or cough.

Using steam from inhalation or saline nasal sprays will help remove your nasal congestion, allowing more oxygen into your breathing passages. The more oxygen that is delivered to the brain, the more alert you will feel.

If your symptoms become worse, slow your work down. Becoming overly fatigued can prolong your recovery process and hinder your ability to concentrate for an extended period of time.

Make sure that you give your body enough time to recover by resting, drinking enough fluids, eating a moderate diet and most importantly, not over-exerting yourself. As your body heals, your mind will begin to return to normal function.
