Not all ORS sachets are safe! With fake versions flooding the market, knowing how to identify the original WHO-approved one can make all the difference. Let's dive in.

WHO recommends a mix of 6 teaspoons of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to 1 liter of water. While the right mix can replace lost fluids & minerals, the wrong one can make it worse.

Why the Right Balance Matters?

Always check the contents. The original recipe follows the WHO-recommended mixture, and not any improved or added additive versions.

 Do Check the Formula

Just look out for ORS that contains stevia or monk fruit sweeteners. They don't have glucose, and hence may not rehydrate you as effectively as you think.

Skip Sugar Substitutes

Check the label for herbal mixes or fruit powders, and skip them. These ingredients can interfere with the ORS and its actual purpose.

Avoid Extra Ingredients

Always talk to a doctor before buying or taking any ORS, as anything on the internet may not give proper and correct medical information.

Don't Trust Random Sources

Remember, when you doubt whether the ORS is real or not, do double-check the label and always buy from a trusted medical source.
