Replace bright white bulbs with soft, warm, dimmable lights. For migraine-safe light, reduced eye strain can lead to calming the nervous system. Also, don't forget your blackout curtains.

Strong perfumes, air fresheners or room scents are migraine triggers. Use unscented or fragrance-free or hypo-allergenic products instead. If you like smells, you could use a few drops of mild lavender or peppermint essential oils instead.

Getting too hot, or experiencing temperature fluctuations can cause migraine flares. Use a fan or air conditioning to ensure a comfortable, cool space between 18-21°C (65-70°F).

Phones, tablets, & televisions give off blue light. This is known to strain your eyes and disrupt your sleep. Utilize the blue light filter apps and avoid all blue light for at least one hour before bedtime to prevent migraine flares.

Choose hypoallergenic pillows, soft breathable sheets, and anything that helps you avoid discomfort. Check that your pillow actually supports the alignment of your neck, it can potentially reduce painful tension headaches.

Make your bedroom a quiet, stress-free zone. Bring in some plants, calming colors, or hang a soft few panels of music. Stress is a big trigger for migraine. Make your bedroom your sanctuary.

Your bedroom should be a safe retreat and not a land mine for migraine. With a few small changes in light, air quality, and bedding, you can easily transform your bedroom into a headache safe zone.
