A sound sleep is the foundation of good health, but it's not always so easy to fall asleep, especially when your brain is buzzing with thoughts. Here are some tips to calm a racing mind.

Spending time on screen exposes you to blue light, which disrupts sleep and also stimulates your brain, making it harder for it to unwind and fall asleep fast. Avoid using the phone at least 30 minutes before you sleep.

Breathing exercises like the 4-7-8 method or belly breathing can help calm your nervous system, making it easier for you to doze off.

When your brain is stressed, spilling your thoughts on paper can be helpful in taking off the mental load.

One way to reduce stress is to schedule a specific "worry time" prior to your bedtime routine. Spend 15-30 minutes considering everything on your mind. This helps you offload your thoughts.

Try to visualize a serene location, such as a beach or forest, with all the details. Visualization diverts attention away from stressful thoughts, calming the mind at bedtime.
