CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a life-saving technique that uses chest compressions and breaths to keep blood and oxygen flowing when the heart stops. Let's dive into the basics.

Call 911 if overseas or 108/102 in India for emergency assistance. Remain calm and provide specifics clearly.

Place the heel of your hand on the centre of the chest, with the other hand on top, interlocked. Keep elbows straight, shoulders above hands.

Push hard and fast (100–120 per min). Allow the chest to rise fully between compressions.

After 30 compressions, give 2 breaths by tilting the head back, sealing the mouth, and blowing in.

Continue CPR until professional help takes over or the person regains breathing. Even basic CPR can double survival chances.
