Just because a food is labeled "healthy" does not make it healthy for you.

Let's expose your 6 everyday foods that appear to be healthy but may be hindering your health efforts.

Flavored yogurts are loaded with added sugar & preservatives. A better option is choosing plain, Greek yogurt, & for naturally sweet flavor add it with fresh fruits or a little honey.

Typically, granola has oils, sugars, & dried fruits making it more of a dessert than a snack. A better option would be oats with nuts & seeds that still get you the crunch without the calories.

Most veggie chips are deep fried & salted. Opt for baked veggie slices or air-fried veggie slices with little or no seasoning.

Sports drinks, unless, you're one of those rare endurance athletes typically adds unwanted sugars & unnatural colors to an acceptable diet. You are better off hydrating with either water or coconut water.

Smoothie bowls, now that got popular, can be loaded with sugars & toppings that carry extra calories. Be mindful of your portions, & skip the overly sugary granola or syrups.

Just because it is labeled "multigrain", doesn't mean its whole grain. A lot of the time, they contain refined flour. Look for breads that say "100% whole grain", preserves with no added sugars or fillers.

Stick to whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, & lean proteins. Read the labels & avoid ultra-processed "health" products.

It’s really easy to be misled through advertising and marketing practices. Keep informed, read food labels with a mindset that separates marketing from the nutrition, and eat real food with little processing if you want to think about your long-term health.
